Renovation of Historic Retaining Wall

The present thesis deals with the renovation of a historic retaining wall. This wall is a part of the castle complex Schloss Wespenstein, located in Thuringia near Saalfeld, Germany. An inspection revealed damage to a castle wall. The objective of this thesis is to determine and document the causes of damage, and make proposals for the renovation. Also, the effects of a buried cross vault on the castle wall are analyzed. The vault is to be restored in connection with the renovation of the wall.
