Optimization of Steel Usage in Case of Steel Roof Cover for Logistic Centers

This thesis focuses on the optimization of steel usage in case of steel roof cover for logistic centers. A roof cover consisting of truss purlins and truss girders was chosen for the analysis as the most favorable structure in terms of steel weight. As far as the roof cover system is concerned, two options had been assumed for which simplified structural analysis and design was performed.

Subsequent part of the thesis focuses on the optimization of the truss purlins and truss girders for the selected option in terms of the height of the trusses, the type of crossing diagonals, the number of trusses, as well as the shape of the member cross-section. In RFEM by Dlubal Software, the truss calculation models had been created on the basis of which the steel weight and the steel components external surface were then analyzed. The analysis results were listed in tables and diagrams and conclusions regarding the optimal creation of truss systems were drawn. For the selected model, an assembly drawing and drawings of dispatch elements were made: truss girder and truss purlin.
