  • Answer

The deformation calculated with RF-CONCRETE Members represents a simplified calculation according to the standard. Only the deformation at the point of maximum loading is calculated first. From this value and the value of the linear deformation of RFEM or RSTAB at this location, a factor is calculated. Then, the complete diagram of deformation based on RFEM or RSTAB will be multiplied by this factor and then output in the results of the add-on module.

In Figure 01, you can see a comparison of the results of the linear calculation from RFEM and the calculation of the add-on module. The calculated factor will be approximately 2.66.

It is important that the deformation can actually only be compared at the location of the maximum deformation. Only there, a calculation is actually available. Therefore, different deformations may occur for connected members, as shown in Figure 02.

Your support is by far the best

“Thank you very much for the useful information.

I would like to pay a compliment to your support team. I am always impressed how quickly and professionally the questions are answered. In the industry of structural analysis, I use several software including service contract, but your support is by far the best.”
