The following image shows the specific structural analysis settings that appear when you select the soil modeling type 2D Constrained Modulus Method (Elastic Half-Space) in RFEM 6. Here, you can change the number of iterations and the convergence for the iterative determination of the foundation parameters. For more information on the theoretical principles of this method, see [[005893#h-4 2D Constrained Modulus Method (Elastic Half-Space)].
Maximum Mumber of Iterations
This text box controls the maximum number of iterations to be performed to determine the foundation parameters. Increasing this value may lead to a successful calculation of a non-converging analysis.
Precision of Convergence Criteria
Changing the value in this input box allows you to influence the accuracy of the calculation. Specifically related to the constrained modulus method, this determines how accurately the base stress field must match between two iterations in order to be considered successful. A lower factor results in increased accuracy.
