In an imperfection case of the “Group of Imperfection Cases” type, you can combine previous imperfection cases linearly. Combinations of the “AND” and “OR” type are available here. Furthermore, you can specify the factor of each imperfection case or define it using a formula.
Therefore, this imperfection type can be used to consider the reverse imperfection direction of each previously created imperfection case. To do this, enter the factor of “-1.0” in the combination for an imperfection case.
This imperfection type also allows for the superposition of several imperfection directions to consider the unfavorable case of the imperfections. To do this, use the combination with the “OR” keyword. All possible sub-combinations are automatically generated.
Another possible application is the superposition of different imperfection types. For example, you can superimpose a global inclination created using member imperfections with a local member imperfection based on the buckling mode.
