The Torsional Warping add-on (7 degrees of freedom) allows for considering the cross-section warping as the seventh degree of freedom in the global calculation of RFEM and RSTAB. The warping is considered a local member deformation that is taken into account accordingly when calculating the global model. The stiffnesses of adjacent structural components are also automatically taken into account.
For models with members, the calculation is influenced by the specifications for the member divisions. The settings are managed in program-specific dialog boxes for RFEM and RSTAB.
Mesh Settings (for RFEM)
The FE mesh affects the consideration of the cross-section warping. You can adjust the general specifications for the FE mesh generation in the RFEM dialog box Mesh Settings.
The divisions for members are managed in the Members tab. Make sure that a sufficient value is specified for the entry 'Number of divisions for special member types'. Minimum values of 8 to 10 are recommended.
Member Divisions (for RSTAB)
The member divisions affect the consideration of the cross-section warping. You can adjust the specifications for the member divisions in the RSTAB dialog box Member Divisions for Calculation.
Make sure that a sufficient value is specified for the entry 'Number of divisions for special member types'. Minimum values of 8 to 10 are recommended.
