Service Classes

Info

Depending on the selected design standard, this type of timber design is also referred to as "Moisture Classes" or "Service Conditions."

For the sake of simplicity, only the term Service Classes is used in this manual.

The classification into service classes allows for the assignment of strength parameters. By default, all surfaces are assigned to the same Service Class 1. If the service class of a structural component differs, adjust the entry for the corresponding surface.

Info

The definition of a service class only affects the ultimate limit state design. For serviceability limit state design, you can define the creep coefficient in the design standard parameters.
