Service classes are used to classify timber components based on the expected loads and the environmental conditions under which they are used. They are important for ensuring the long-term load capacity, durability, and safety of the timber structure.
The classification into service classes allows you to assign strength parameters. By default, all members, member sets, surfaces, and surface sets are assigned to the same Service Class 1. If the service class of a structural component differs, use the
button to define a new service class and assign it to the object.
