Beam-Column

To create a new member of the "Beam" member type for a column of the segment, open the "New Member" dialog box. To do this, you can click the New Member button in the toolbar.

It is necessary to specify the column cross-section in the "Section" tab of the dialog box. You can select the cross-section in a library. To do this, click the Library button. In the library, select the cross-section series for thin-walled circular hollow sections.

You can then define the cross-section properties in the "Edit Section" dialog box.

In this dialog box, open the material library (use the Library button). In the "Filter" section, set the criteria as shown in the image Material Library and then assign the material S355 to the cross-section.

You can then define the geometry of the cross-section in the "Parametric - Thin-Walled" tab of the "Edit Section" dialog box. In the example, the column cross-section is defined with a diameter of 1,000 mm and a thickness of 10 mm (see the image Cross-Section Geometry).

As soon as you have defined the cross-section and confirmed the member creation, you can position the member in the work window: Set a start point (marked as 1) and an end point (marked as 2) by clicking on the points of the auxiliary line.
