Grayed-out Wind and Snow Load Generators for 2D Models in RFEM 5 / RSTAB 8

Why are the wind and snow load generators disabled (grayed out) in my model in RFEM 5 or RSTAB 8?

Answer:

The prerequisite for both generators is the use of the 3D model type. For a 2D model type, the program does not have the corresponding geometrical parameters.

The model type is defined within the general data of the model. You can open the corresponding dialog box in the Data navigator by right-clicking "Model Data" and then using the "General Data" option in the shortcut menu (see the image).

When changing the model type, it may be necessary to adjust the modeling (supports, joints).
