Options

This chapter describes additional options and object types that have a significant impact on the design checks, but are not listed in the categories of Aluminum Design:

For the aluminum design, you can also consider member transverse stiffeners, design supports, member shear panels, and member rotational restraints. Since they are also considered for other add-ons, they are not part of the Types for Aluminum Design, but of the general category Types for Members.

The Design Supports & Deflection tab becomes active in the editing dialog box of members or member sets once you activate Design Properties in the "Main" tab. In this dialog box, you can define the boundary conditions for the serviceability limit state design in Aluminum Design.

The Supports tab becomes active in the editing dialog box of members or member sets once you activate the "Supports" option in the "Main" tab. You can calculate torsional and rotational springs from definable parameters of the shear panel and the rotational restraint, or you can specify them manually.

The chapter Member Sets provides you with information about the design of structural components, such as a member or a member set. The handling of representatives in the design is explained in the chapter Representatives.
