Influence of Core Density in Stiffness of Sandwich Surface

In this Master thesis, the student analyzes the influence of deviation in the density of the material that is used in mechanical stiffness as a core layer of a sandwich surface.

The analysis compares the stresses acting laterally and in the core as well as the deformation of the entire structure for different material densities of the core layer. The results of the tests were compared with the results of the structural analysis in RFEM.

Based on this study, the influence of the core layer density on the mechanical strength of sandwich surfaces can be proven, but no significant differences in the surface area can be observed in the case of boundary fluctuations in the density. The entire work was done under elastically linear conditions.
