In version 8.xx of the program CRANEWAY, a design of suspension cranes is possible according to EN 1993‑6. For the design, it is necessary to determine the local bending stresses in the lower flange due to wheel loads according to EN 1993‑6, Clause 5.8. The calculation of the necessary coefficients according to Tab. 5.2 is implemented in CRANEWAY. Furthermore, you have to superimpose the respective global stresses with the local stresses due to wheel loads in the structural analysis.

According to NCI (Germany) to Clause 5.8 of EN 1993‑6, the local stresses may be reduced to 75 percent in this superposition. If you select the German National Annex in CRANEWAY, the program considers this reduction automatically.
