Seismic Design of Bridges According to DIN EN 1998-2

Subject of this thesis is the analysis of a three-span beam bridge in solid construction. The superstructure consists of prestressed concrete and is straight but slightly cambered. The bridge should be built in Tübingen, Germany. The city of Tübingen is situated in the Neckar valley between the Northern Black Forest and the Swabian Jura which is the region with the most seismic activity in Germany.

By means of special design methods and analyses from the earthquake standard DIN EN 1998, Parts 1 and 2, the thesis tries to prove that the bridge will neither collapse nor be damaged in case of seismic activities.

"Once again, I'd like to thank you for your help and support, and I also want to thank the Dlubal company for providing me with the software. I really enjoyed working with the program and, of course, I have learned a lot."
