Merging Identical Definitions of Materials and Cross-Sections
Tips & Tricks
The “Merge Identical Cross‑Sections/Materials” function allows you to compare a selected table entry with all other entries and merge identical table entries into one.
To open the context menu with this function, right‑click in the description column of the material or cross‑section table. If there is no corresponding identical entry for the selected cross‑section / material, the mentioned function appears dimmed.
The merging function is important if the calculation model was created from several components from other files by using the Windows Clipboard. When pasting elements by means of the Clipboard, new materials and cross‑section definitions are automatically created because of the missing interconnection for the concerned elements. In this way, double definitions are created when you paste several components. The merging function helps you counter this issue.
