Grid and Work Plane

Grid points are useful when defining objects graphically. To open the settings of the grid, select "Grid" and "Work Plane" on the "Tools" menu. Alternatively, use the toolbar button Grid and Work Plane Settings .

The "Work Plane" can be parallel to one of the three global planes: XY, YZ, or XZ (the selection is also possible by using the toolbar buttons Icons of Work Plane , that is, without opening this dialog box).

By default, the "Grid Origin" is located in the zero point. Use the Icon of Select Grid Origin button to select a different point in the work window, or enter its coordinates. The Icon of Create New Point button enables you to define a new reference point.

In the sections below, specific options are available for you to adjust the "Grid Type" (Cartesian or polar arrangement), the "Number of Grid Points," and the "Grid Point Spacing," for example.
