For crane runways with large spans, the horizontal load from skewing is often relevant for the design. This article describes the origin of these forces and the correct input in CRANEWAY. The practical implementation and the theoretical background are discussed.

The following article describes the design of a single-span beam subjected to bending and compression, which is performed according to EN 1993‑1‑1 in the RF-/STEEL EC3 add-on module. This technical article presents some basics for using the Torsional Warping add-on (7 DOF). It is fully integrated into the main program and allows you to consider the cross-section warping when calculating member elements.
