Using Partial Safety Factor γM1 in Stability Analysis According to Second-Order Analysis

I am performing a stability analysis according to the second-order analysis. Why is the partial safety factor γM1 used for the stress analysis here?

Answer:

For cross-section and stability analyses, the Eurocode provides different partial safety factors. It is important to pay attention whether the stability analyses are performed using the second-order analysis and applying imperfections as cross-section design checks. In this case, it is necessary to reduce the resistance with γM1.
