Importing and Using DXF Background Layer
Tips & Tricks
DXF layers of ground plans cannot be directly used in FEA programs because there are only outer contours of elements (walls, ceilings, etc.) available in the drawing. However, the structural analysis program requires system axes.
Nevertheless, a DXF layer can be very helpful. For example, you can use the RFEM function “Parallel Line with Offset” under “Tools” in menu also for background layers (and so inactive lines) after the import. If there are two lines overlapping in a corner point, the redundant part of lines is automatically removed. Optionally, you can automatically extend the lines in outer corners.
