Modeling | Structure RFEM RSTAB

What is the easiest way to enter a scissor release in RSTAB or RFEM?

Answer

RSTAB scissors releases represent the connection of girder intersections.

Four members are connected in one node. Two members transfer, for example, moments in their "direction of traverse," but they do not transfer moments to the other member pair. The nodes are completely transferring only axial and shear forces.

In RSTAB or RFEM, a scissor release can be specified by a global release definition.

The release must be assigned to either the members 1 and 2 or the members 3 and 4. The other crossing set of members is modeled rigidly without a release.
