Monopitch roof

Image 11.199 Generate Wind Loads - Monopitch Roof dialog box

First, define the standard and, where applicable, the National Annex in the Velocity Pressure dialog section. This setting controls, which text boxes can be accessed.

Specify the parameters as described in Chapter 11.8.5.1. The Monopitch Roof Parameters are automatically determined from the roof geometry and the side where the wind blows.

As described in EN 1991-1-4, Table 7.3a, for example, several load cases must be taken into account for a monopitch roof. In the Load Cases to Generate dialog section, you can specify the load case numbers for the load generation. The compression loads are created in the load case LC w+, the suction loads in LC w-. The relevant load cases can be created with the button.

You can use the button to scale the loads for specific members. This way, you can, for example, consider the effects of continuity of a roof sheathing on the edge rafters in order to generate reduced member loads. Specifications are entered in a separate dialog box (see Figure 11.187).
