8.28 Surfaces - Maximum Strains

The extreme values of strains are available under Surfaces → Strains in the Results navigator (see Figure 8.59). Table 4.28 shows these strains in numerical form.

Image 8.62 Table 4.28 Surfaces - Maximum Strains

The table shows the extreme values of strains sorted by surfaces. The results are listed in reference to the grid points of each surface.

The Grid Point and Grid Point Coordinates table columns correspond to those of results table 4.26 Surfaces - Basic Strains.

Maximum Strains

These values represent the extreme values of the strains determined by the equations shown in Table 8.20.

Table 8.21 Maximum strains

εmax,+

Maximum value of the strain on the positive side of the surface
(i.e. side in direction of positive surface axis z)

εmin,+

Minimum value of the strain on the positive side of the surface

max|+

Maximum absolute value of both extreme values on the positive side of the surface

εmax,−

Maximum value of the strain on the negative side of the surface

εmin,−

Minimum value of the strain on the negative side of the surface

max|

Maximum absolute value of both extreme values on the negative side of the surface

εmax

Maximum value of the strain on the positive or negative side of the surface
(columns E and H)

εmin

Minimum value of the strain on the positive or negative side of the surface
(columns F and I)

max|

Maximum absolute value of the strain on the positive or negative side of the surface
(columns K and L)
