Importing and Exporting Tables
A table from MS Excel can be imported directly into the current RFEM input table. The programs involved must be opened. Conversely, it is also possible to completely or partially export the current RFEM table to MS Excel.
To use the import or export function, click the [Export/Import Table] button in the table toolbar.
Use this button to open the Import table and Export table dialog boxes (see figures below).
The MS Excel workbook must be opened before starting the import. If headers exist in the spreadsheets, activate the Including table header check box. In doing so, the headers are ignored during the import and only the lists are transferred to the RFEM tables.
The spreadsheet software MS Excel is the only available Application.
The Transfer Parameters dialog section specifies whether the active workbook or only the active worksheet is imported. When importing a complete workbook, the order and structure of the worksheets must completely match the RFEM tables.
In the Formulas and Parameters dialog section, you can decide if formulas stored in Excel are also imported when exchanging data.
Click [OK] to start the import.

If you only want to import specific parts of the worksheet, the copy function is recommended: Select the relevant area in the Excel table and copy it to the clipboard with [Ctrl]+[C]. Then, place the pointer into the corresponding cell of the RFEM table and insert the content of the clipboard with [Ctrl]+[V].
To export RFEM tables, MS Excel does not need to be opened beforehand.
The available Application is the spreadsheet software MS Excel. It is also possible to create a file in the general spreadsheet format CSV (see Chapter 4.13).
In the Table Parameters dialog section, specify if the headers are exported as well. If the check box is selected, the result in Excel looks like in the figure below:
If the check box is not selected, only the table content is transferred to Excel.
With the Only marked cells option, you can export selected table contents (see Chapter 11.5.2).
Use the Only selected objects check box to export data or results of selected row numbers. The selection is facilitated by the synchronization of the selection between graphic and table (see Chapter 11.5.4).
The Only filled rows option controls, how empty rows are treated for the export.
In the Transfer Parameters dialog section, you can specify the target tables that data will be written into. When the first check box is clear, RFEM creates a new workbook. With the Export table to active worksheet option, it is possible to use the current worksheet of the spreadsheet program. If the Rewrite existing worksheet check box is selected, RFEM searches for a table in the workbook with the same name as in RFEM and then overwrites it.
In the Formulas and Parameters dialog section, you can decide if and how the formulas saved in RFEM should be exported.
To start the export of the current RFEM table, click [OK].
To transfer several tables at once to Excel, it is recommended to use the File → Export menu function (see Chapter 12.5.2). Then you can select the relevant tables in a dialog box.
