The following chapters describe the input parameters that affect the Modal Analysis add-on.
Add-On ' Modal Analysis '
In the Add-Ons tab of the basic model data, you can activate or deactivate the modal analysis for use (see image # extbookmark manual|image021889|' Add-Ons ' for Analysis and Design #). A green dot in front of the name of the add-on indicates that you have a license. An orange or blue point means that the add-on is only available as a demo or part of the trial version.
In the Norms I tab of the General Data, you can select the norm to be used for the dynamic analysis (see image # extbookmark manual|image026493|Register 'Standards I' #). The input dialogs of the dynamic analysis are automatically adapted to this standard.
After activating the add-on and the standard, the user interface is expanded to include new entries in the navigator, tables and dialogs (see image # extbookmark manual|image026549|Entries in Navigator # and Image # extbookmark manual|image026550|Entries in table #). The parameters of the modal analysis are fully integrated into the user interface of the programs RFEM or RSTAB.
Input dialogs
Two input dialogs are decisive for the modal analysis:
- In the Load Cases and Combinations dialog box, you specify the load cases for which a modal analysis is carried out.
- In the Modal Analysis Settings dialog box, you specify the rules according to which the eigenvalues are calculated.
