Results by Member

The Results by Member table result category lists the results of the time history analysis that are available for the members. In the individual tabs, the results are sorted by member numbers.

Info

The default result types for members are described in Chapter Results by Member of the RFEM manual.

Global deformations

You can display the member deformations graphically using the navigator category 'Global Deformations' (see image Results of Time History Analysis ). In the 'Global Deformations' table tab, the member deformations are displayed numerically (see FigureResults by Member in Table). The results are as follows:

  • Absolute total displacement |u|
  • Displacements uX, uY, and uZ
  • Rotations φX, φY and φZ.

The deformations refer to the axes of the global coordinate system.

Local Deformations

You can display the local member deformations graphically by means of the 'Members' 'Local Deformations' navigator category (see image Selecting Local Member Deformations in Navigator ). The values of the member deformations are listed in the 'Local Deformations' table tab. The results are as follows:

The deformations refer to the local member axes.

Internal forces

You can display the member internal forces graphically by using the navigator category 'Members' → 'Internal Forces' (see image Results of Time History Analysis ). In the 'Internal Forces' table tab, the internal forces of members are displayed numerically. The results are as follows:

Strains

Member strains represent local deformations in the form of axial strains and shearing. In the Navigator category 'Members' → 'Strains' and the table tab 'Strains', the following results are available:

  • Axial changes and shear strains εx, γxy and γxz
  • Torsional and bending actions κx, κy and κz

Contact Forces

For members provided with a Member Support, you can use the {$ Displaying Contact Forces'. The following manuals have been updated:

  • Contact forcespx,py, and pz
  • Moment mx

Internal Forces by Cross-Section

The 'Internal Forces by Cross-Section' table tab lists the extreme values of the internal forces that are available for each cross-section.
