Time History Analysis Load Combinations

The Load Combinations tab allows you to combine several load situations with different time diagrams and to superimpose them. This allows you to simulate an excitation that is not only variable over time, but also changes its position—for example, a pedestrian crossing a bridge.

Select the Time History Analysis ❘ Time Diagram analysis type from the list. This option is not available for accelerograms.

Main

The setting options in the Main tab correspond to the setting options of the Main tab for load cases.

Assignment

In the Assignment tab, you can select the load cases to be used for the time history analysis.

The "Existing Load Cases" column shows all load cases of the "Static Analysis" or "Time History Analysis | Time Diagram" type listed in the table. The selection of load cases is described in the chapter Load Combinations of the RFEM manual.

Tip

It is possible to assign different time diagram to each load case. You can also use a time diagram several times.

For load cases of the "Time History Analysis" type, the respective settings are adopted and entered in the "Assigned for CO" dialog section in the columns "Time Diagram" and "Time Slip".
