Calculation Parameters

The Calculation Parameters tab is only available for the "Linear Implicit Newmark Analysis" type. Here you can define the mass matrix and the directions of the acting masses. In the case of a linear modal analysis, the settings for the acting masses and the mass matrix are taken from the assigned Modal Analysis Load Case .

Mass Matrix Settings

The following types of mass matrices are available for selection in the list:

  • Diagonal
  • Consistent
  • Unit

The individual types are described in the chapter Modal Analysis Settings .

Six check boxes control in which direction or about which axes the masses act when determining the eigenvalues. The masses can act in the global displacement directions X, Y, or Z, and rotate about the X, Y, and Z axes. Select the relevant check boxes. It is necessary to activate at least one direction or axis in order to calculate the eigenvalues.

Use the six check boxes to define the global directions in or about the global axes of the masses. These settings change the mass matrix.

Options

In this section, you can enter the "Mass Conversion Type" settings or "Neglect masses". The corresponding options are also described in the chapter Modal Analysis Settings .
