Results

After the successful calculation, the results of a response spectrum load case are displayed: In the work window, you can see the global deformations as an envelope; in the table, you can see the deformations, support forces, internal forces, or stresses of the individual model objects. This way, the results of the spectral analysis are fully integrated into the program interface of RFEM or RSTAB.

Work Window

The envelope results from the combination rules for the periodic responses and for the directional components that you have defined in the Spectral Analysis Settings. At the top of the 'Navigator - Results', select the combination rule or mode shape to be used for the graphical display of the results. You can also use the buttons Previous and Next to switch between the entries.

For the graphical display of the results, all result types that are also available for a static load case are available for selection in the navigator. Depending on the model type, these are, for example, the global deformations, the internal forces of members and surfaces, and the support reactions. The result types of the model objects are described in Chapter Results of the RFEM manual.

Table

The result tables of the dynamic analysis are displayed automatically when you display the results of the dynamic load case. Use the categories and subcategories to control the display of results in the table (see Chapter Tables of RFEM). manual). Various sub-categories are available for spectral analysis. They are described in the following chapters.

If you want to quickly jump to a particular table, right-click a tab. You can then select the desired table in the shortcut menu.

Info

The possibilities of the result evaluation are described in general in Chapter Result Evaluation of the RFEM manual.

Units and Decimal Places

You can adjust the units and decimal places as described in Chapter Units and Decimal Places. Since we are primarily concerned with deformations, internal forces, stresses, and strains, it is necessary to change units]] of the RFEM manual, they are relevant for the parameters of the 'Static Analysis' category.

Export to Excel

You can export any result table of the spectral analysis to MS Excel. For this, use the Export Current Table button in the table toolbar (see image Export Current Table ). When exporting the current table, the values are exported with full precision.

If you want to export several tables at once, use the Export function in the File menu. In the 'Table Export Selector' dialog box, you can specify which tables are to be exported (see the image Selecting Tables for Export ).
