Input Data

The following chapters describe the input parameters that affect the Pushover Analysis add-on.

Info

The add-on 'pushover analysis' requires a modal analysis .

Add-on ' Pushover Analysis '

In the Add-Ons tab of the basic model data, you can activate or deactivate the pushover analysis for use (see image ' Add-Ons ' for Analysis and Design ). A green dot in front of the name of the add-on indicates that you have a license. An orange or blue point means that the add-on is only available as a demo or part of the trial version.

After activating the add-on, the user interface is expanded to include new entries in the navigator, tables and dialogs (see picture Entries in Navigator and Image Entries in table ). The parameters of the pushover analysis are fully integrated into the user interface of the RFEM or RSTAB programs.

Input dialogs

Two input dialogs are decisive for the pushover analysis:

  • In the Load Cases and Combinations dialog box, you specify the load combinations for which a pushover analysis is carried out and assign the horizontal direction of the increasing load.
  • In the Pushover Analysis Settings dialog box, specify the increment of the increasing horizontal load and specify the termination condition for the analysis. You can also adjust the accuracy for the iterative determination of the target displacement.

As a further prerequisite, a nonlinear structural behavior of the model must be given, for example in the form of nonlinear member end hinges or nonlinear material properties.
