Thickness

In the table Thicknesses of the 'Timber Design' category, all thicknesses that you have created in the model are listed.

The font color of the thicknesses provides information about the use of the thickness. The colors mean:

  • black: Thickness is suitable for design and is used for the objects to be designed
  • blue: Thickness is not used in the model
  • gray: Thickness is not used for the objects to be designed

Remove thicknesses from design

For each valid thickness, you can exclude all surfaces from timber design to which this thickness is assigned by deactivating the 'To be designed' check box. The surfaces are then sorted in the table Objects to be Designed into the 'Invalid / deactivated' column and are not checked during design.

Adjust thickness

If required, you can adjust the properties of a thickness in the editing dialog. To do this, double-click the thickness row or click the Open Editing Dialog Box button in the table toolbar.

Info

The surface thickness affects the internal forces, but has no influence on the stress design itself. A design with thicknesses specially adapted for the add-on is therefore not intended.

Use other thickness for design

The functions in this table column are still under development. They are intended to allow you to use a different thickness for the design than for the RFEM calculation.
