Design ratios on beam panels | Planking

The result tables of the category Utilizations on Beam Panels | Sheathings contain the result data for the design checks of the sheathings of beam panels with the respective utilizations.

Important

The table category is available if a beam panel is selected for the design and the check box for the design of Sheathings is activated in the Global Settings dialog.

The surface results are sorted in the tabs according to the following criteria:

  • Loads (Design Situations, Load Combinations)
  • Surface Properties (Materials, Thicknesses)
  • Objects (Beam Panels, Surfaces, FE Mesh Nodes)

Beam Panel Surface No.

Each beam panel is assigned to a surface. The number of this surface is specified here.

Surface No.

For each design check criterion, the number of the surface showing the greatest utilization is specified.

Sheathing Type

The location of the sheathing is described here. The side '-z' refers to the negative surface side (in the opposite direction of the local z-axis), the side '+z' to the positive surface side (see Beam Panel | Sheathing).

Mesh Node / Element No.

The number of the FE mesh node where the maximum utilization was determined is given. A second number designates the finite element adjacent to the FE node, if deviating design-relevant internal forces exist there.

Info

If you have selected the 'Calculate results at grid point' option in the Global Settings dialog, the numbers of the grid points are given in this column. The results are then related to the Surface Grid.

Mesh Node Coordinates

The global coordinates X, Y, and Z of the FE mesh nodes are displayed in the three columns.

Design Situation

This column lists the numbers of the Design Situations for which the individual utilizations are available.

Loading

The numbers of the load or result combinations that are governing for the respective design checks are given.

Layer Side

The stresses are examined for the following locations of the sheathing cross-section:

  • Top
  • Middle
  • Bottom
Tip

Using the Result Diagram in Surface Point button, you can graphically display the stress curves in the layers in the Result Curves at Surface Point dialog.

Design Check Criterion

This column shows the design check conditions according to Standard. The degree of the respective utilization is expressed by the length of the colored bar.

Design Check Type

Each design check is identified by a code with a number. For example, the design checks of the ultimate limit state according to Eurocode have the code 'UL', and the design checks of the serviceability limit state have the code 'SE'. The design check type is explained in the Description column.

Design Check Formula

You can activate this column in the Result Table Manager. It specifies the standard equations used for the design checks.

Description

Each design check is explained by a short description with reference to the chapter in the standard.

Tip

You can display the Design Check Details for a specific utilization using the Design check details button or by double-clicking the row.

Filtering Results

The chapter Utilizations on Members describes how you can filter the results by limit state and by utilization.
