Modeling of Member Perpendicular to Existing Member

For a frame trussed from below, compression members are to be modelled perpendicular to the inclined beam. The member length and the intersection with the horizontal beam are defined.

One possibility of the implementation would be a grid rotation by 90 degrees and placing the origin in particular nodes. Then you can place the compression members along the grid points.

Another possibility is the modeling with a polar coordinate system. However, this requires precise angle information.

So the solution with the least modeling effort is to use the alternative input modes of members. You can see in the picture that only the member length is required in that case. If you point on the members with the mouse then the member preview appears.
