Representatives for members and member sets are template objects with the same properties in terms of material, cross-section, member type, and length. If you activate the Member Representatives option in the model's Base Data in the Settings and Options tab, the representatives are automatically generated from the properties of the members available in the model.
You can also use the member representatives for the concrete design: Since only the enveloping internal forces of all similar types are analyzed here, member representatives allow for an efficient design check.
Set the representative(s) as Objects to Design. If you need the results for certain members or member sets, you can also activate the individual objects.
In the "Edit Member Representative" dialogue box, the design properties are activated automatically.
Now, you can define the design properties for the representatives, so that they will apply to all members. Thus, you avoid a manual definition of every single member.
