Materials for Concrete Design

The concrete design is linked to the materials of the Concrete and Reinforcing Steel category, which have to be created in the model. The "Materials" table of the "Concrete Design" category lists all materials defined for the model.

Valid Materials

The font color of the materials gives you the information about the utilization and validity of the material for the concrete design:

  • Black = material suitable for design
  • Red = material not suitable for design
  • Blue = material not used in the model
  • Gray = material not used for objects to design

Info

Only the Concrete and Reinforcing Steel material types are allowed for the concrete design.

For concrete materials, a further distinction is made between the "Concrete" and "Lightweight Concrete" subtypes. You can use this filter option in the material library of RFEM or RSTAB.

Objects with an invalid material assigned are not taken into account in the design – even if the "To Design" option is activated for this material. In the Objects to Design table, they are automatically marked as "Not Valid/Deactivated".

Removing Material from Design

For a valid material, you can deactivate the "To Design" check box to exclude all objects to which the material is assigned from the design. These objects are classified as "Not Valid / Deactivated" in the Objects to Design table and are not analyzed during the design.

Options

The symbols in the "Options" column are used for different settings or modified values. They allow for a quick overview, for example, to identify the materials with adjusted properties.

By clicking the icon, you can open the editing dialog box of the material for the stored option.
