In the Effective Lengths tab, you can assign an effective length to the member. This is required for the stability design according to the method with nominal curvature (model column method).
Assignment
If you have already defined types of Effective Lengths, you can select the appropriate type from the list. Using the
button, you can create a new (or additional) effective length type here.
The
button provides the option to edit the effective length type selected in the list. Using the
button, you can graphically take over the type from another member.

On the right, you can see the cross-section of the member, and at the bottom, the longitudinal section. The supports resulting from the boundary conditions for the stability design are also shown there. The functions of the two graphic areas are described in the Shear reinforcement chapter.
