A member stiffness modification allows you to influence the stiffness of members. It has to be defined as a type that can then be assigned to certain members in a Structure Modification.
There are several options available for member stiffness modifications.
Multiplier Factors
The stiffness can be adjusted in two ways by using factors:
- Total stiffnesses: All elements of the stiffness matrix are uniformly multiplied by the factor k.
- Partial stiffnesses, weights, and masses: The elements of the stiffness matrix and the weight can be specifically modified by factors.
Settings for American Standards
For US and Canadian standards, there are some modification options to apply stiffness factors in compliance with the standards.
