Solid Load

If a solid is loaded not only on surface areas, but also inside the body, it will be necessary to define a "solid load". Solid loads can be the effects of forces, temperature, or buoyancy.

Usage in RFEM

The acting loads can be defined as follows:

  • Force: A solid load acting uniformly in one of the global directions
  • Temperature: A uniform or linearly variable temperature change in a solid
  • Strain: Imposed strains or imposed compression ε that acts uniformly or linearly variable on a solid.
  • Buoyancy: Weight of displaced material resulting from density.
  • Rotary motion: A centrifugal force from mass and angular velocity ω on a solid
