A time-dependent analysis takes into account the long-term effects of the structural material. This ensures the long-term load-bearing capacity of concrete and timber buildings.
Time-dependent factors, such as the additional plastic deformations due to creep and shrinkage of the material, can have a significant influence on the distribution of the internal forces.
Usage in RFEM
To consider time-dependent factors in RFEM, you need to activate the Time-Dependent Analysis (TDA) add-on in the model's Base Data. Then, you can add the time information to load cases.
The time-dependent parameters for creep and shrinkage can be defined in the material properties.
The calculation is nonlinear according to the rheological model (Kelvin and Maxwell model).
