A member imperfection allows you to model the imperfections of members as equivalent deformations. These initial inclinations and precambers are taken into account in the calculation by equivalent loads. Member imperfections are to be assigned to an imperfection case.
Usage in RFEM and RSTAB
The program provides three options for defining a member imperfection.
- Initial Sway: Initial inclination of a member
- Initial Bow: Initial deflection of a member
- Initial Bow and Criterion: Precamber depending on an inclination
The definition type can determine whether the imperfection is to be user-defined or applied according to the standard specifications.
Generally, the imperfection acts over the length of each assigned member. However, it can also be applied to all members of the list.
