The Member Loads from Free Line Load wizard allows you to apply a line load to specific members without determining the load components manually. This allows you, for example, to apply a load on a girder grillage proportionally.
Usage in RFEM and RSTAB
The program provides several options for applying the line load in a model.
- Uniform: A load with a constant magnitude
- Linear: A load with a linearly variable distribution
Furthermore, you have to specify the start and end nodes as well as the load of the line. The program recognizes the loaded members from the geometric conditions. If necessary, you can define the members that should not be subjected to any proportional loads in the "Excluded Members" tab (for example, bracing members).
