Line

There are various line types of different complexity. Examples are polylines, arcs, or NURBS lines, but there are several more. Depending on the complexity of the line, further intermediate nodes may be required for the line definition. There are various line types. Furthermore, line loads and line supports can be defined at lines.

A local line coordinate system is assigned to a line, while the x-axis is running in the direction of the line. The other axes are aligned to the global coordinate system as much as possible. The line coordinate system can be adjusted by right-clicking and selecting the "Reverse Line Orientation" option. Moreover, it is possible to rotate the line in the line settings.

Entering in RFEM

Lines can be entered and defined in RFEM graphically by clicking "Insert" → "Model Data" → "Lines" → (select Line Type) → "Graphically,", the corresponding toolbar button, or by using the tables.
