Members can be combined in a member set. In a continuous member, members are continuously connected to a node, as in the case of a continuous beam.
Member sets are combined members. Thus, several members can be treated like one member, which might be desired at some locations in a structure (for example, for the lateral-torsional buckling analysis, the design of continuous beams, load application).
Types of Member Sets in RFEM and RSTAB
- A continuous member is created by connected members that do not branch out.
- A group of members consists of connected members that may branch.
