Member Loads from Area Load

This load wizard allows you to set an area load on the selected members of a model without having to determine the load components of the members manually. However, the load-bearing members must rest in one plane. For example, a snow load can only be applied to the rafters of one roof level.

Usage in Program

The program provides several options for applying the area load in a model.

  • Uniform: A load with a constant magnitude
  • Linear: A load with a linearly variable distribution
  • Variable in X/Y/Z: A load with a linearly variable distribution in the direction of a global axis

Furthermore, you can select the members which the area load should act on. In the "Remove Influence from" section, you can select the members that should not be used for the load transfer of the area load.
