Clipping Boxes

A clipping box is a cuboid cutout for certain areas of the model. It allows you to focus on specific objects and hide less relevant parts of the model.

Tip

Use the New Clipping Box button in the CAD toolbar to quickly define a new clipping plane.

Coordinate System

Define the coordinate system to which the clipping box refers. You can select a User-Defined Coordinate System from the list or create a new one using the New button.

Origin Point

Enter the 'Point coordinates' that represent the center of the clipping box. You can also define the point graphically using the Select Individually button.

Dimensions

The size of the cuboid is described by the dimensions that are applied symmetrically from the center in each of the three directions. For an asymmetrical arrangement, use the Select Two button and select any two points in the work window.

In the work window, the clipping box is enclosed by a cuboid. Parts lying outside are cut off.

To switch a clipping box on or off, use the shortcut menu in the navigator (see the image Switching Clipping Plane On and Off ).
