This chapter describes, among other things, how to set up the print page, adjust the print header, and change the language for the printout.
Page Setup
To set up the page, select the **Print Setup** function in the printout report menu **Report**. The 'Printer & Page Setup' dialog box appears. Go to the **Page Setup** tab.
Select the 'Paper format' in the list. The paper sizes are adapted to the printer defined in the 'Printer Settings' tab (see image Printer & Page Setup).
If necessary, define 'User-defined margins' for the page. Use the
button at the end of an input field to set the minimum value for the current printer. Alternatively, use the 'Set printer margins' button at the bottom of the dialog box to set all minimum margins at once.
If special printer settings are required, for example, multiple pages printed on one sheet, use the 'Settings' button to open the dialog box with the printer properties. There, you can define the settings according to the printer's capabilities.
Adjusting the Print Header
A print header is created from your customer data during the installation. It then appears in the header line of the printout report. If you want to change these details, select the **Print Setup** function in the printout report menu **Report**. The 'Printer & Page Setup' dialog box appears. Go to the **Other Settings** tab.
The print header is managed in the 'Header' section. There, you can adjust the 'Main Text' line by line. To include your company logo, click into the input field for the 'Logo path'. The
button appears, with which you can select the directory of the image file. Possible graphic formats include JPG, PNG, GIF, or BMP.
In the 'Header' section, you can furthermore control whether the model name and project name are displayed with descriptions in the document. If necessary, adjust the preset entries.
Saving Print Header as Template
Use the
button at the bottom of the dialog box to save the changed data. The 'New Template for Report Settings' dialog box appears.
Enter a name in the 'Name' field. After OK, the dialog box Templates for Page Settings appears with the preset and user-defined templates.
Importing Print Header from Template
To import the print header from a template, click the
button at the bottom of the dialog box Printer & Page Setup. The 'Templates for Page Settings' dialog box appears.
Three templates for print settings are preset. They cannot be changed.
If you have created one or more user-defined print headers, you can select one of these entries in the list and adjust the print and page settings again. Click OK to transfer the selected template to the 'Printer & Page Setup' dialog box.
The buttons at the end of the 'List' have the following functions:
|
|
Creates a new template |
|
|
Copies the selected template |
|
|
Allows you to rename the selected user-defined template |
|
|
Deletes the selected user-defined template |
Adjusting Layout and Page Numbering
You can also influence the layout and the numbering of the document in the **Other Settings** tab of the 'Printer & Page Setup' dialog box.
If you do not need the graphic symbols in the left column of the document, clear the 'Info images' check box.
In the 'Page & Sheet Numbering' section, you can define targeted specifications for the start numbers of page and sheet, as well as whether the end numbers are displayed. The image above shows the settings for the continuous numbering of pages starting from a specific page number. All pages are assigned a sheet number.
If you do not want a 'Contents', clear the corresponding check box.
Setting the Cover Page
If you want to edit the preset cover page of the printout report, select the **Print Setup** function in the printout report menu **Report**. The 'Printer & Page Setup' dialog box appears. Go to the **Cover Page Settings** tab.
If you do not want a cover page, clear the check box in the 'Options' section. Proceed in the same way to hide the automatically generated preview image on the cover page.
The 'Investor', 'Created by', and 'Project' fields are accessible when the
button is activated (recognizable by the black frame). You can then enter the respective project data.
Setting the Language
The language for the printed document is independent of the program's user interface language. With the German version, you can thus create an English or Italian printout report.
To change the language for the printout report, select the **Set Language** function in the printout report menu **Edit**. The 'Select Language' dialog box appears.
Select the appropriate entry in the list. After OK, RSTAB creates the print preview in the new language.
