Sliding with Taking Passive Earth Pressure into Account

When the passive earth pressure is taken into account, there is a risk of sliding if the design value of the force H_d resulting parallel to this surface in the direction of the displacement is greater than the sum of the design values of the resistance to sliding R_s,d and the earth resistance R_p,d. Therefore, it is necessary to check that the following condition is fulfilled:

H_{d} \leq R_{s, d} + R_{p, d}

σ_{h, b} = k_{p, h} (γ_{d} \cdot z_{u n t e n} + q_{d}) + 2 \cdot {c^{'}}_{d} \cdot \sqrt{k_{p, h}}

Sliding Resistance

The sliding resistance is determined similarly to the sliding without taking passive earth pressure into account.
