Types for Foundations

Creating Single Foundation

In the Navigator, you can create single foundations in the Types for Foundations category. When creating a new foundation, the New Single Foundation dialog box appears.

It is necessary to assign the single foundation to a nodal support. You can select the nodal support manually or graphically using the Select Individually button in the work window.

You can also define the single foundation via the dialog box of the nodal support. Open the Edit Nodal Support dialog box of the corresponding nodal support. In the Options section, select the Foundation check box. The new Foundations tab appears. Here, you can assign a foundation or define a new one.

As an alternative, you can assign the single foundation to a nodal support in the Structure table under Types for Foundations.

Tip

If there are two nodes that have the same nodal support, but a different foundation type, you should create a separate nodal support for each node.

Defining Foundation Type

The list in the Type dialog section offers several foundation types for selection.

Info

Currently, only the foundation plate and foundation plate without reinforcement types are supported. You can use them to design reinforced as well as unreinforced shallow foundations. The remaining types are still in development.
