This chapter describes the design properties of the foundations that are intended for design. These properties, such as geometry and reinforcement layout, have a significant influence on the designs.
In the subchapters, the tabs of the 'Edit Single Foundation' dialog box are introduced individually. To activate these tabs, select the Design Properties check box in the 'Base' tab.
In the Base tab of the 'Edit Single Foundation' window, you can select between various foundation types in the Type check box. RFEM 6 allows you to design a total of eight foundation types:
- Reinforced or unreinforced foundation slabs
- Bucket foundations with smooth or rough bucket sides
- Block foundations with smooth or rough bucket sides
- Reinforced or unreinforced stepped foundations
