This chapter explains how to enter the reinforcement for bucket foundations. Two variants of horizontal reinforcement are described: Bucket reinforcement with enclosing stirrups and with individual stirrups for each side. Afterwards, the input of the vertical reinforcement in the x- and y-directions is explained.
Horizontal stirrups
Two arrangement types are possible for the horizontal stirrups:
- Stirrups that enclose the column
- Stirrups that are located completely within a bucket wall
The arrangement type is defined in the Reinforcement tab.
Bucket reinforcement with enclosing stirrups
The image shows the top view of a bucket with reinforcement enclosing the column. The horizontal stirrup reinforcement is marked by three different stirrup groups:
| Color | Stirrup |
|---|---|
| Yellow | Upper stirrup group whose legs lie on the outside on all sides |
| Cyan | Upper stirrup group whose legs lie on the outside in the x-direction |
| Green | Upper stirrup group whose legs lie on the outside in the y-direction |
The blue and red stirrups represent the vertical reinforcement.
Bucket reinforcement with individual stirrups for each side
The image shows the top view of a bucket with individual stirrups for each bucket wall. The horizontal stirrup reinforcement is divided into two different stirrup groups:
| Color | Stirrup |
|---|---|
| Green | Stirrup group located entirely within the bucket wall in the x-direction |
| Cyan | Stirrup group located entirely within the bucket wall in the y-direction |
Vertical stirrups
Regardless of whether the stirrups enclose the column or run within the bucket walls, the vertical reinforcement remains identical in both cases. The vertical stirrup reinforcement consists of:
| Color | Stirrup |
|---|---|
| Red | Vertical stirrup group for reinforcing the wall panel in the x-direction |
| Blue | Vertical stirrup group for reinforcing the wall panel in the y-direction |
Entering the reinforcement
The input of the horizontal and vertical stirrups is to be carried out in the Bucket Reinforcement tab. If you opt for a bucket reinforcement with enclosing stirrups, the three stirrup groups (outer stirrups as well as stirrups in the x- and y-directions) must be arranged.
The stirrups in the x- and y-directions can be either identical or different.
If, however, you select an bucket reinforcement with individual stirrups for each side, the corresponding two stirrup groups must be entered.
Subsequently, the vertical stirrups in the x- and y-directions must be specified.
