This chapter explains the design properties of bucket foundations. As with block foundations, bucket foundations can be distinguished by the surface of the bucket sides: they can be smooth or rough. The texture of the bucket surface of the bucket has a decisive effect on the distribution of forces within the bucket and thus has a governing influence on the design.
