The design properties of bucket foundations are explained in this chapter. As in the case of block foundations, bucket foundations can be distinguished by the surface texture of the bucket sides. This can be smooth or rough. The texture of the bucket side has a significant influence on the force distribution within the bucket and thus has a major impact on the design.
